OSS Association Left Its Mark on Automechanika Istanbul 2023

Automechanika Istanbul 2023, the world's leading trade fair brand in the automotive aftermarket sector and the largest international organization of its sector in the region covering Eastern Europe, the Balkans, the Middle East and North Africa, brought the sector together again this year. Automotive Aftersales Products and Services Association (OSS), the umbrella organization of the automotive aftermarket in Turkey, also left its mark on the organization held at Istanbul TÜYAP Fair and Congress Center between 8-11 June 2023 in cooperation with Messe Frankfurt Istanbul and Hannover Fairs Turkey.

The fair activities started with the 8th OSS Conference organized this year. The conference hosted Jean-François Bouveyron, Vice President After Sales for Europe, Middle East and Africa at Delphi Technologies, one of the leading names in the industry. "New technologies in automotive! The end of the beginning for the aftermarket? The beginning of the end?", Jean-François Bouveyron said: "Whenever I talk to politicians, I always hear the following sentence; our biggest enemy is internal combustion engines. No, actually our enemy is carbon emissions and if we can create the internal combustion engine in an environmentally friendly way, we can actually move forward with this alternative. Hydrogen will be the new tool to create environmentally friendly internal combustion engines. Electricity will be a privilege granted to passenger cars in use in the city, but hydrogen fuel cells will be used for light commercial vehicles and hydrogen injection systems for trucks."

Following the conference, members had the opportunity to get together and chat at the cocktail organized at the OSS Lounge, which is at the service of OSS members.

On Friday, June 9th, at the E4B panel organized with the support of OSS and Taysad on the Automechanika Academy Stage, Group Member Aslıhan Mermer, representing the OSS Balancing at Work Working Group, delivered her speech.
